Journal of Precision Medicine and Genomic Therapeutics

Journal of Precision Medicine and Genomic Therapeutics

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Precision Medicine and Genomic Therapeutics publishes original research, clinical studies, reviews, and implementation reports that contribute to the advancement of personalised healthcare. Authors submitting to this journal must ensure that their work aligns with the journal’s thematic focus and follows the required formatting, ethical, and citation guidelines.

All manuscripts must be written in fluent English and submitted electronically through the journal’s official online portal. Work that does not meet formatting or ethical requirements may be returned to authors before peer review.

Article Types

Original Research Articles: Full-length manuscripts reporting experimental, clinical, or computational studies relevant to genomic medicine, pharmacogenomics, or personalised therapeutics.

Review Articles: Structured reviews of existing literature on a focused topic within the scope of precision medicine or genomic research.

Clinical Implementation Reports: Studies describing the integration of genomic or molecular tools in healthcare settings, including pilot programmes or process evaluations.

Methodology Papers: Descriptions of platforms, data frameworks, algorithms, or laboratory techniques used in precision medicine workflows.

Translational Case Studies: Case-based manuscripts that describe how genomic findings guided treatment or diagnosis, with documented outcomes and discussion.

Perspective and Commentary: Shorter articles offering analysis or insight into challenges, policies, ethics, or institutional strategies related to personalised care.

Letters to the Editor: Constructive responses to previously published articles or emerging themes in genomic and precision therapeutics.

General Formatting

Submissions must be prepared in Microsoft Word format using Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spacing, and 2.5 cm margins. All pages must be numbered sequentially.

Title Page

The title page must include:

  • Full manuscript title
  • Names and affiliations of all authors
  • Email address of the corresponding author
  • Conflict of interest disclosures
  • Acknowledgement of any funding or institutional support
  • Ethical approval statements or patient consent notes (if applicable)

Abstract

All articles must include an abstract of 250 to 300 words. The abstract should summarise the study’s rationale, objectives, methodology, key results, and conclusions. Abstracts for review articles should indicate the scope and major findings.

Keywords

Provide four to six keywords that accurately reflect the subject areas addressed in the manuscript. These will support indexing and online discoverability.

Main Text

Research manuscripts should follow a structured format as appropriate to the study type. For most original research articles, the following structure is recommended:

Introduction: Brief context and explanation of the research question, with references to previous work.

Methods: Description of study design, sample selection, molecular or data techniques, analysis procedures, and any relevant computational or statistical methods.

Results: Presentation of major findings, supported by tables, figures, or visual summaries.

Discussion: Interpretation of results in relation to existing literature, including implications for clinical use, limitations, and areas for further study.

Conclusion: Summary of contributions and the potential application of the findings.

Review articles and translational case reports may follow alternate structures depending on scope and focus, but all manuscripts must be logically ordered and academically presented.

Tables and Figures

All tables and figures should be cited within the main text. Tables should have titles and clearly labelled rows and columns. Figures must be submitted in high-resolution formats (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF) and include descriptive captions. Visual content must not include identifiable patient information unless explicit consent has been obtained.

Supplementary figures or appendices may be submitted in separate files and clearly labelled for reviewer reference.

References

All references cited in the text must be listed at the end of the manuscript. The journal accepts citations in APA style. Authors must ensure accuracy and consistency in referencing.

Ethical Requirements

Authors must confirm that all human or animal research was conducted with appropriate ethical approval. For studies involving genetic testing, sequencing, or data derived from patients, an institutional review board or ethics committee statement must be included. Consent for publication must be obtained in all cases where patient identity could be revealed through narrative, imagery, or genetic data.

Studies using publicly available datasets must cite the source and describe any applicable usage conditions. Authors are also encouraged to follow standards for reproducibility and responsible data stewardship.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must declare any financial, professional, or institutional affiliations that could influence the content or interpretation of the work. Conflict of interest statements must be included on the title page and, where relevant, within the body of the manuscript.

Funding Disclosure

All sources of financial or institutional support must be disclosed in a separate section of the manuscript. If no funding was received, this should be clearly stated.

Data and Software Availability

Authors are encouraged to share underlying data, code, or supplementary material supporting their findings. This may include genomic datasets, analysis pipelines, or clinical protocols. Repository links and access conditions must be described clearly in the manuscript.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s submission portal. A complete submission includes:

  • Main manuscript
  • Title page
  • Tables and figures (if not embedded)
  • Supplementary materials (if applicable)
  • A cover letter outlining the manuscript’s relevance and confirming its originality

Authors must confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere and that all listed authors have contributed meaningfully to the work.

Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Each submission is evaluated by at least two reviewers selected for their expertise in genomic science, precision therapeutics, or clinical application. Manuscripts are assessed for scientific merit, clarity, originality, and relevance. Authors may be asked to revise based on reviewer feedback.

The final decision rests with the editorial board.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

An Article Processing Charge will be levied upon acceptance of the manuscript. Specific details will be provided to the corresponding author following the editorial decision.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright over their published work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal the right to publish the work under an open-access licence. Articles may be archived or distributed with proper citation.

Editorial Contact

The editorial office is available to support authors throughout the submission and review process. For questions regarding article suitability, formatting, or policy, authors may contact the journal team prior to submission.
