Author Guidelines

The Global Journal of Comprehensive Medical Reports & Reviews accepts original clinical manuscripts that contribute to medical education, practical diagnostics, and evidence-informed practice. Authors are advised to review the following guidelines in full before preparing their manuscripts. Submissions must meet the required format and ethical standards to be considered for peer review.

All manuscripts must be written in clear, fluent English. Submissions that do not meet basic formatting or ethical compliance may be returned for correction prior to peer review.

Article Types

Original Research (Retrospective Clinical Studies): Structured reports based on chart reviews, departmental audits, or patient datasets.

Case Reports: Single-patient reports that highlight diagnostic, therapeutic, or ethical challenges.

Case Series: Small groups of patients with a common theme, presentation, or outcome.

Clinical Review Articles: Narrative or structured reviews based on available literature, targeted at practitioners or trainees.

Educational Overviews: Instructional summaries designed for use in academic settings.

Technical Notes and Diagnostic Reflections: Descriptions of procedural techniques or diagnostic observations from clinical settings.

Letters to the Editor: Short communications regarding previously published work or emerging topics.

Commentary and Opinion: Clinical reflections, ethical arguments, or system-level observations based on practice.

General Formatting

All manuscripts must be submitted as editable Word documents. Use Times New Roman font, 12-point size, and double spacing throughout. Margins should be 2.5 cm on all sides, and pages should be numbered.

Title Page

Include the following details:

Full title of the article
Names of all authors, with affiliations listed clearly
Corresponding author’s name, institutional address, and email
Declaration of any financial or institutional support
Conflict of interest statement
Patient consent statement (for case-based work where applicable)

Abstract

Each manuscript must include a structured abstract of 250 to 300 words. The abstract should summarise the background, clinical presentation or objective, methods, findings, and clinical significance. Abstracts for reviews should outline the scope of the literature and key findings.

Keywords

List 4 to 6 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. These terms will assist with indexing and retrieval.

Main Text

The structure may vary slightly depending on article type. For original case-based reports or clinical studies, the following format is recommended:

Introduction: Provide clinical background and define the problem or knowledge gap.

Case Presentation (or Materials and Methods): Describe the patient history, presentation, evaluation, and treatment or outline the data collection process for larger sets.

Results (or Case Outcome): Present findings, clinical course, or observed trends.

Discussion: Interpret findings in the context of current knowledge. Include differential diagnoses, relevant literature, management reflections, or educational value.

Conclusion: Provide a concise summary of key lessons and take-home points.

Tables and Figures

Tables must be placed at the end of the manuscript or embedded near the relevant text. Each table should include a title and clearly labelled columns and rows. Figures should be submitted as high-resolution files in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format. Captions must be placed below each figure and include relevant clinical detail.

Ensure that all visual materials are anonymised and do not contain identifying information unless explicit patient consent has been obtained.

References

All references cited in the text must be listed at the end of the manuscript. The journal accepts citations in APA style. Authors must ensure accuracy and consistency in referencing.

Ethical Considerations

All manuscripts must follow established ethical principles. Any study involving human participants must include a statement confirming that ethical approval was obtained, or that such approval was not required with justification.

For case reports and images, informed consent must be obtained from the patient, guardian, or legal representative. Consent must be stated explicitly within the manuscript or title page. Authors must also ensure that no identifiable information is included unless consent to publish has been granted.

For retrospective studies or departmental data, authors should include a note on ethics committee approval or exemption.

Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any personal, professional, or financial affiliations that could influence the interpretation of findings. This statement should be included on the title page.

Funding Acknowledgement

Please disclose any sources of financial support for the study. If no funding was received, this should be clearly stated.

Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online system. Submissions should include:

Main manuscript file
Tables and figures (if not embedded)
A cover letter summarising the article’s relevance and confirming originality
Any supplementary files or supporting documents

Manuscripts submitted to this journal must not be under consideration by any other publication.

Peer Review

The journal uses a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by two or more reviewers selected based on their subject expertise. Reviewers evaluate clarity, clinical relevance, educational value, and adherence to ethical standards. Authors may be asked to revise their work based on reviewer feedback. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the time frame specified by the editorial office.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

An Article Processing Charge will be levied upon acceptance of the manuscript. The corresponding author will receive full payment details and invoice at the time of acceptance.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright over their published work and grant the journal the right to publish the article under an open-access licence. Proper attribution is required when reusing material from the journal.

Editorial Support

Authors may contact the editorial office with questions about article suitability, formatting expectations, or peer review procedures. Editorial assistance is available to support authors in preparing submissions that meet the journal’s standards.
