Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology

About Journal

Global concerns about climate change, land degradation, water scarcity, and pollution have placed Earth system science and environmental biotechnology at the forefront of research and policy. The Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology has been created to support the publication of research that addresses these urgent challenges through a combination of geoscientific inquiry and biotechnological advancement.

This journal serves as a platform for multidisciplinary studies that explore the interactions between earth systems and biological processes, with the goal of improving environmental resilience, ecosystem health, and sustainable resource management. It welcomes contributions that link geology, hydrology, atmospheric science, geochemistry, and environmental engineering with microbial technology, biosensors, waste treatment, and biological remediation.

The Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology encourages submissions from researchers, environmental scientists, earth system modelers, biotechnologists, ecologists, engineers, and practitioners working on natural resource sustainability, environmental diagnostics, and applied biotechnological solutions. The journal emphasizes studies that are application-oriented, scientifically rigorous, and relevant to the global sustainability agenda.

Submissions may address both fundamental science and practical implementation. The journal supports work that spans laboratory-based investigations, field experiments, modelling studies, and system-level analyses.

Topics of interest include:

  • Soil bioremediation and restoration of contaminated land
  • Microbial and enzymatic treatment of industrial and agricultural waste
  • Biosensors for environmental monitoring of pollutants and toxins
  • Groundwater and surface water quality assessment using biological indicators
  • Bioaugmentation and constructed wetland systems
  • Carbon sequestration and climate–biosphere feedbacks
  • Geochemical cycles and microbial mediation of mineral processes
  • Biogeotechnology in mine tailing management and land reclamation
  • Atmospheric interactions with biogenic volatile compounds
  • Sustainable water reuse through biofiltration and membrane bioreactors
  • Geological carbon storage with microbial involvement
  • Plant–microbe interactions in degraded ecosystems
  • Integration of environmental genomics in ecological assessment
  • Remote sensing and spatial modelling of environmental change linked to biotic response
  • Soil structure, porosity, and microbial habitat mapping in geotechnical projects

The journal values studies that bridge disciplines, particularly those that combine geological expertise with biological insight or engineering application. Interdisciplinary approaches are considered essential for understanding and managing complex environmental systems.

The Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology supports both applied research and theoretical contributions, provided that manuscripts are structured, well-documented, and clearly positioned within existing scholarship. Studies that include original datasets, detailed methodological protocols, or novel analytical approaches are strongly encouraged.

Authors are invited to submit the following types of content:

  • Original research articles
  • Review and synthesis papers
  • Technical notes describing new laboratory or field methods
  • Case studies of remediation projects or environmental interventions
  • Pilot-scale implementation reports
  • Perspective articles on innovation, policy, or cross-sector collaboration
  • Thematic articles on regulatory, ethical, or socioeconomic implications of environmental biotechnology

All submitted manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review. Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, methodological familiarity, and regional relevance where applicable. Reviewers evaluate submissions for scientific quality, innovation, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts to address reviewer feedback or to meet formatting and reporting expectations.

The Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology encourages research from all global regions. Studies from underrepresented or under-monitored ecosystems are welcomed, particularly when they offer new insight into ecological dynamics or practical approaches to environmental management. Authors working in arid, coastal, mountainous, or densely urban environments are encouraged to highlight regional challenges and locally adapted solutions.

The journal values transparency and reproducibility. Authors are encouraged to share raw data, GIS files, microbial strains, genomic sequences, or custom code where feasible. Supplementary materials should be referenced clearly and submitted as separate files. Manuscripts involving fieldwork should include geolocation details and information about access permissions or community involvement, where applicable.

Research involving biological agents, field interventions, or water and soil manipulation must follow ethical and environmental safety protocols. Authors should confirm that proper permissions were obtained for sample collection, field installation, or experimental manipulation. Where work involves indigenous lands, protected areas, or community-led resources, a statement of consent and collaboration should be included.

All references cited in the text must be listed at the end of the manuscript. The journal accepts citations in APA style. Authors must ensure accuracy and consistency in referencing.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English and prepared using the required formatting. Detailed author guidelines are available on the journal’s submission portal. Submissions that do not conform to the formatting standards may be returned to authors before review.

An Article Processing Charge will be levied upon acceptance of the manuscript. Payment details and invoicing instructions will be shared with the corresponding author following editorial approval.

The Journal of Earth Science Innovations and Environmental Biotechnology is committed to open access publishing. All accepted articles are made freely available to readers worldwide, without subscription barriers. The journal’s mission is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and to support practical innovation in the service of global environmental resilience.

As environmental pressures grow and the impacts of anthropogenic change become increasingly apparent, this journal aims to support research that contributes to both understanding and action. It invites collaboration across disciplines and sectors, and encourages authors to engage with scientific complexity while remaining focused on outcomes that support long-term planetary health.
