Author Guidelines

The Annals of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine welcomes high-quality submissions that contribute original research, critical reviews, and scholarly perspectives in the fields of physical rehabilitation and regenerative medical science. We aim to support the exchange of clinical knowledge, technological innovation, and evidence-based practice that advances recovery and function in diverse patient populations.

Authors are expected to carefully review these guidelines before preparing and submitting their manuscripts. Submissions that do not meet the formatting, ethical, or procedural requirements may be returned without review.

Manuscript Categories

We accept the following manuscript types:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical studies presenting novel data related to rehabilitation or regenerative interventions, mechanisms, or outcomes.
  • Review Articles: Systematic, scoping, or narrative reviews summarizing and evaluating existing literature in a focused domain.
  • Case Reports: Detailed clinical accounts of unique, complex, or rare patient cases with significant educational value.
  • Short Communications: Brief reports on pilot data, methodological innovations, or preliminary findings.
  • Technical Notes: Descriptions of new techniques, devices, rehabilitation equipment, or clinical protocols.
  • Editorials and Commentaries: Expert perspectives or discussions of emerging trends, controversies, or policy developments.

All submissions should be written in clear, professional English and structured according to the article type.

Ethical Considerations

  • Human and Animal Subjects: All research involving human participants must state that informed consent was obtained and that the study received approval from a recognized institutional ethics committee. For studies involving animals, authors must confirm adherence to institutional and national guidelines on animal welfare.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose all relationships, financial or otherwise, that could be perceived as potential conflicts of interest.
  • Plagiarism and Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. All submissions are screened for plagiarism using reliable software. Redundant or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.
  • Clinical Trial Registration: If applicable, clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov) and the registration number must be stated in the manuscript.

Figures and Tables

  • Each figure or table must be submitted as a separate file, with clear titles and legends.
  • All figures should be of high resolution (at least 300 dpi).
  • Use standard, readable fonts in illustrations.
  • Tables should be formatted in Word and not as embedded images.

Submission and Peer Review Process

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s submission portal available on the MK Science Set website. Authors will receive a confirmation upon successful submission.

Each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial review to ensure it aligns with the journal’s scope and formatting requirements. If suitable, it is then sent for double-blind peer review, where identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise. Authors may suggest potential reviewers or list individuals they wish to exclude. Editorial decisions are typically communicated within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of submission.

Revisions, if requested, must be submitted within the specified deadline, accompanied by a response letter addressing each reviewer comment point-by-point.

Article Processing Charges

As an open-access journal, the Annals of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine charges an Article Processing Charge for accepted manuscripts. This APC supports the peer review process, copyediting, digital hosting, and permanent online archiving.

Details of the APC will be communicated to the corresponding author upon acceptance. The journal may consider partial waivers in special cases, particularly for authors from low-resource settings or institutions with limited funding.

Open Access and Copyright Policy

All articles are published under an open access model, ensuring free and unrestricted access to research for readers worldwide. Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal a license to publish and distribute it under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

This license permits reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.
