Abstract:
An 18-year-old presented with a 4-month history of chest pain, dyspnea recently arrived from Sri Lanka. A chest X ray revealed a large mass like opacity in the left hilum and CT demonstrated a 3.5 cm mass in the anterior mediastinum. The patient was then referred to the surgical team for thoracotomy and resection. Surgery was uncomplicated with a rapid uneventful recovery. Histopathology concluded a diagnosis of teratoma of the thymus.
