Abstract:
Following the restoration of independence in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the adoption of a new Constitution and legislation governing national security, as well as the establishment of new state institutions and significant social, political, and socio-economic developments aimed at progress, conditions were created for the reliable safeguard ing of the economic security of national statehood. This article examines the concepts of the shadow economy, national security, national interest, economic security, economic interest, and the interconnections among them. The study found that key regulatory documents addressing public relations related to national security do not list disruptions to the tax system as threats to economic security. Consequently, the article concludes by proposing ap propriate amendments to the concept of national security and the Law “On National Security” of the Republic of Azerbaijan to better ensure economic security.
