Abstract:
Using generative AI (ChatGPT 3.5), the paper addresses the issues of communication between possibly non-ver bal autistic children, 3-6 years old, and their grandparents who may be living far away. The power of generative AI allows the creation of different scenarios for simulation. This paper presents four such scenarios called phases. Phase 1 instructs the AI to simulate a reporter who is asked to do a story for an internet publication, dealing with “What autistic children would like to tell their grandparents who live far away,” with the results generating four different “stories” as written by the reporter. Phase 2 instructs AI to generate questions and answers. The questions are generated by AI and the answers are generated from the point of view of the autistic grandchild. Phase 3 shows how AI can synthesize messages that the autistic child would like to say to his grand mother. Phase 4 shows “advice” to give to the grandmother about interacting with her grandson, the advice similar to what one might receive either from “online” sources (internet) or from friends, and is not treated as medical advice. The four phrases provide an approach for educating professionals and laypeople alike about various issues of a social and perhaps medical nature.
