λPN-Based Modeling and Analysis of a Machining Robot Cell

Abstract:
This paper introduces a novel approach for modeling and analyzing faults within a machining robot cell. We propose a hybrid analysis thatcombines Petri Nets (PNs) with Fault Tree, resulting in a new technique called Lambda Petri Net (λPN). This work was been implemented in the LabView environment. The λPN demonstrated strong model ing capabilities for the developed monitoring system. Lambda Petri Nets in fault analysis allow natural language descriptions of process entities. A graphical method is used to describe the relationships between conditions and events. Mathematical generic properties have been used to validate our whole research technique. The simulations and results obtained from the state of the operating system without and with fault are presented and discussed.
