Novel Journal of Applied Sciences Research

Author Guidelines

The Novel Journal of Applied Sciences Research (ISSN: 3066-7194) welcomes scholarly contributions that offer meaningful applications of science across a wide range of disciplines. In order to maintain the integrity, quality, and consistency of published articles, authors are required to follow the submission guidelines outlined below. These instructions serve to guide prospective authors through manuscript preparation, formatting, submission, and the review process.

1. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

We accept a variety of manuscript types that reflect the interdisciplinary and applied nature of the journal. Authors may submit:

Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies presenting novel applications of scientific principles, tools, or methodologies in real-world settings.

Review Articles: Detailed, literature-based discussions that summarize the current state of knowledge and highlight practical implications of applied science research.

Case Studies: Papers that document specific real-life implementations of scientific innovation or technological development, particularly those with measurable outcomes.

Technical Reports: Focused submissions explaining new procedures, instruments, algorithms, or materials, with emphasis on usability, performance, and deployment.

Short Communications: Concise yet impactful contributions presenting emerging ideas or pilot data relevant to applied sciences.

Each submission should contribute to the advancement of practical knowledge and demonstrate scientific rigor, clarity of purpose, and relevance to industry or community needs.

2. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

All manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the following formatting and structure standards.

Language and Clarity

Manuscripts should be written in clear and professional English. Authors for whom English is not a first language are strongly advised to have their manuscript reviewed by a native speaker or a language editing service prior to submission.

Formatting Instructions

File Type: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Font and Size: Use a standard font such as Times New Roman, size 12.

Spacing: Double-spacing must be used throughout the document, including references, figure captions, and tables.

Margins: Maintain 1-inch margins on all sides.

Pagination: Page numbers should be added at the bottom right corner of each page.

Title

The title should be concise yet descriptive, with a maximum of 15 words. It should reflect the main objective or contribution of the research and be free of abbreviations or technical jargon.

Abstract

All manuscripts must include an abstract of 150 to 250 words. The abstract should briefly summarize the background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions. It must be written as a single paragraph without references or citations.

Keywords

Provide 4 to 6 relevant keywords that represent the core topics of the manuscript. Keywords should be specific and suitable for indexing and search optimization.

Section Headings

The manuscript should be clearly divided into the following main sections, unless the type of article requires a different structure:

Introduction: Explain the context, significance, and objectives of the study.

Materials and Methods: Describe the procedures, tools, materials, and statistical analyses used. Provide sufficient detail to allow replication.

Results: Present findings with appropriate use of tables and figures. Avoid interpretation in this section.

Discussion: Interpret the results, compare with previous studies, and highlight the practical implications of the research.

Conclusion: Summarize the main outcomes and suggest directions for future research or application.

Figures and Tables

Each figure and table must be numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2; Table 1, Table 2).

Include a clear and descriptive caption for every figure and table.

Ensure all figures and tables are cited within the text.

Submit high-resolution images separately, preferably in JPG or PNG format.

3. References and Citation Style

All references must be formatted according to the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style. Consistency and accuracy in citation are crucial for publication.

In-Text Citations

Use the author-date format for in-text citations.

Example:
(Smith, 2021)

Reference List Format

List all references at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order.

Example:
Smith, J. A. (2021). Application of biochemistry in agricultural engineering. Journal of Applied Sciences, 14(3), 123–135. https://doi.org/10.1234/jas.2021.00345

Ensure that all sources cited in the manuscript are included in the reference list and vice versa.

4. Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s official online submission platform. Authors are required to create an account, complete their profile, and follow the submission steps to upload their manuscript and any accompanying documents.

5. Cover Letter

Every manuscript submission must be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the editorial board. The cover letter should include:

A brief description of the manuscript and its significance.

A statement confirming that the manuscript is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.

A disclosure of any conflicts of interest.

The names of any preferred or non-preferred reviewers, if applicable.

6. Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial relationships, personal affiliations, or academic collaborations that could influence the objectivity of the research or review process.

7. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The editorial team will assign manuscripts to qualified reviewers based on subject matter expertise. The peer review process evaluates:

Scientific validity and methodological accuracy.

Relevance to the field of applied sciences.

Originality and clarity of presentation.

Practical or industrial significance.

Authors will receive a detailed editorial decision, including reviewer feedback, typically within a few weeks of submission.

8. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised version of the manuscript along with a response letter addressing each reviewer comment. Revised manuscripts should highlight changes or improvements made in response to the feedback received.

9. Ethical Standards

Authors must comply with ethical research practices, including:

Obtaining appropriate approvals for studies involving human participants or animals.

Avoiding plagiarism or manipulation of data.

Ensuring transparency in methodology and data interpretation.

The journal adheres to international guidelines on publication ethics and misconduct will be handled accordingly.

10. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication, authors will be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC helps cover editorial, peer review, production, and open-access hosting costs. Detailed instructions regarding payment will be shared post-acceptance.

11. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their published work and agree to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original author and source are credited.
